IN THE FOUR CORNERS area
The infrared camera allows us to see things which are invisible to the naked eye. From the first law of thermodynamics, we derive the principal of conservation of energy. Energy cannot be destroyed. In mechanical systems, chemical energy may be turned into heat and that heat converted to work. The work may then be converted back to heat. The heat may even radiate into space. The energy has not been destroyed, just transferred.
The second law of thermodynamics alludes to nature's unhappiness with uneven energy distribution. Striving for equilibrium, heat always flows from hot to cold. Heat transfer describes that flow of energy. The infrared camera uses the heat energy transferred to form an image.
All objects warmer than absolute zero emit radiation. This radiation, whatever form it takes, travels at the speed of light. With each oscillation of an atom, one wave is generated. Given that the wave is traveling away from the object at a constant speed, we can deduce tat the more rapid the oscillations (hotter the material) the shorter the wavelengths must be. The distance between crests of succeeding waves is called wavelength. From this, it follows that the hotter the object (the faster it vibrates) the shorter the wavelength..
Energy takes many forms. Infrared cameras detect inband IR radiation or heat energy. Heat is a form of energy that is transferred by a difference in temperature. Temperature is a physical property that tells us how hot or cold an object is. Specifically, temperature is the measurement of the rapidity of vibration of moleculres and atoms. As an object cools, the motion of the atoms making up the object slows. Alternately, as the object heats up, the atoms oscillate faster and faster. The point at which all the vibration of the atoms has stopped is called absolute zero.
Radiation is the process of heat transfer via electromagnetic waves. When using the infrared camera, one can see the effects of conduction and convection, but you can also directly see radiation. Radiation does not need a medium to travel through. The sun heats the Earth with radiation which has traveled through space. When we walk by a fire, we feel the heat primarily through radiation.

Our infrared inspection camera can be used to scan your home for cold spots. These cold spots are sources of expensive heat loss in walls and ceilings and around windows and doors. The above images demonstrated missing insulation in an exterior wall
Infrared inspections can detect hot spots in pumps, motors and circuitry, alerting technicians to potentially dangerous equipment and circuitry overloads
